Start Your Woodworking Journey on the Right Foot with Ted’s Woodworking Plans!
Since I’d tried so many other woodworking blueprints before, I figured I’d review Ted’s Woodworking to have my say about the quality of the plans. I’ll also include my Ted’s Woodworking complaints so you know what’s good and what’s bad about these plans.
If you’ve ever gone to a hardware store to find a DIY project, you know there are a ton of different companies who make blueprints. Some of them are better than others, and even some plans within the same company have differing qualities! You might purchase plans for a bench and a table from the same company and both plans will have completely different styles and levels of details. For a woodworker, this is frustrating.
What drew me to Ted’s Woodworking plans was how there were over 16,000 plans from the same source. I thought I wouldn’t have to sift through piles of blueprints in the hardware store to find which plan I wanted for my project. 16,000 plans is a lot, though, so I decided to look at them for a few hours to see just how consistent they were.
The style of Ted’s Woodworking projects varies a little from plan to plan, but overall everything is just as uniform (or more so) than plans from other companies. This shocked me because I spent three hours just opening and looking through plans. I must have seen over 200 different plans and all of them were of top quality! I almost couldn’t believe it had taken me this long to come across this product!

Quality of Plans
The plans were laid out well and made perfect sense as I tried to follow them. All of the plans I saw were in color, even the simple blueprint ones, which made them a lot easier to read. The photographs in the plans were a wonderful addition, too. Seeing a project go from step one to completion in photos let me know exactly what my project should look like.
Another important addition Ted’s Woodworking makes other companies don’t is including a complete parts list for each project. It’s the worst feeling in the world to get halfway through a project and find out you don’t have an important piece you need to finish! Ted’s Woodworking plans make sure you don’t make this mistake by itemizing every single thing you may need. It makes the whole woodworking process much more enjoyable.
If you’re worried about the skill level needed to read and complete these plans, don’t be. I found these plans to be clear and plain enough for amateur woodworkers to get professional quality results. If you’re a pro and worried the plans are too simple, you don’t need to worry about that, either. Even though Ted’s Woodworking plans are clear and easy to read, they also contain the little details only a pro would look for.
Types of Plans
Even if Toms Woodworking only contained a few different types of plans to follow, I think what you’d be getting would still be pretty good. However, the different types of Toms Woodworking plans cover about anything you could ever want. Here are just a few of the different projects included: cabinets, benches, book cases, gun cabinets, gazebos, playhouses, windmills and more. If you can think of it, it’s probably here.
Like I said before, the quality of plans is pretty good through and through. Based on what I saw, whether you’re going to build a table or a chair, you’re going to find the highest quality plans in Ted’s Woodworking.
My Complaints with Ted’s Woodworking Plans
I didn’t have too many complaints about the plans themselves, but I did have a few complaints about finding plans. There’s just too many to choose from! I thought I’d choose a simple shelving unit as my first project to test this out. When I started looking through the different shelf plans, I almost had to get a drink because I was so overwhelmed! Eventually I called my son into the room and he found one we could do together.
Another complaint I had were regarding the videos that came with my Ted’s Woodworking download. I didn’t really want videos—photos were fine with me. I prefer to quickly look through a book at my own pace, but not everyone is as much of a stickler as I am. The videos were of exceptional quality, and I’m sure most people would actually be happy with them. They just weren’t for me.
Other than those minor things (which might not even be an issue for most people), I didn’t have any other complaints. The price was fair, the guarantee of a full refund if I didn’t like the plans was great and everything else exceeded my expectations.
Concluding Thoughts
When I started looking at Ted’s Woodworking, I wanted to invest in woodworking plans that would last me for years. I think I got more than I bargained for! With over 16,000 high-quality plans to choose from, I think I’m going to have my hands full for the next few years. Every plan I saw was of the highest quality and followed the same basic style. The plans were also very easy to follow and made completing a professional quality product simple.
If you’re looking for woodworking projects, look no further than Ted’s Woodworking plans. I didn’t have any serious Ted’s Woodworking complaints, and I was happy throughout my entire experience.

Woodworking can be a perfect hobby.. All you need to do is follow the simple guides on Teds Woodworking. I am lucky I have finished my first project at home – kitchen cupboard!
